Blood Code launched on December 28, 2015 as a complete otome dating simulation. The original developer, Weixi Games, dissolved in early May 2017, with ZiX Solutions stepping in to maintain the game on Steam — a fact they communicated publicly on May 3, 2017. Despite the studio change, ZiX Solutions continued providing updates, most recently a bug fix and engine update on April 12, 2018 (Version 1.20). Both DLC items — the Original Soundtrack and the Costume Pack — were released by November 2016, and no further DLC has been listed or announced. There has been no developer communication since April 12, 2018, and no content has been announced or shipped since that date. The game launched as a finished product and received post-launch balance, localization, and bug-fix patches through 2018, but no additional story content or major expansions were ever planned or delivered. The game is complete.
