Hakuoki: Kyoto Winds launched on Steam on August 24, 2017 as a remastered visual novel — explicitly described as the first part of a two-part series. The second part, Hakuoki: Edo Blossoms, was released separately as its own game. Both DLC items (the Winds Treasure Box and the Deluxe Pack) shipped on launch day, August 24, 2017. The only post-launch update was a bug fix on October 17, 2017 addressing a Chinese language display issue. There have been no further developer communications about this game since then, and no additional content has ever been announced or released. The two most recent news posts (April 2026) are about an entirely different game — Cupid Parasite — published by the same developer on this game's Steam news feed. Hakuoki: Kyoto Winds launched as a complete, self-contained experience and has received no post-launch content beyond that single bug fix patch.
