Lycans launched on December 4, 2023 and has received a sustained stream of updates since then. The developer shipped five major content updates post-launch: version 0.9 (February 5, 2024), version 0.10.0 (March 16, 2024), version 0.12 (June 28, 2024), version 0.14.0 (August 10, 2024), and version 0.15.0 (November 27, 2024). These added a new map, new items (smoke bomb, padlock, spyglass, wolf trap, potions), a battle royale mode, a new Alchemist role, and ongoing balance improvements. Additional feature patches and bug fixes filled the gaps, with the most recent being a bug fix on December 13, 2024. Throughout 2024, the developer maintained a consistent rhythm of roughly one to three months between major releases. The June 2024 update explicitly stated "new updates are planned for soon," and the November 2024 map update celebrated the game's one-year anniversary — both signs of an active project. The game's version numbers remain below 1.0, and the developer has never announced a final update or the conclusion of development. However, as of September 24, 2026, the last developer communication of any kind was the December 13, 2024 bug fix — nearly nine and a half months of silence. This far exceeds the established 1–3 month update cadence, with no explanation provided for the gap. No developer statement has confirmed that development is continuing, nor has one announced the game is complete. This extended, unexplained silence raises genuine uncertainty about whether active development is ongoing.
