MadOut Open City launched from Early Access to a beta/release state on March 29, 2016, with the developer noting at the time that "some updates will come soon." Following that, a bug fix for racing missions was issued on March 30, 2016, and then Oculus VR support was added on August 3, 2016 — the last known developer activity. Since August 3, 2016, there have been no further news posts, feature patches, DLC announcements, or any other developer communications. The store description and short description show no indication of ongoing content plans, season passes, or live-service elements. With no post-August 2016 developer activity of any kind across nearly a decade, the game appears to have shipped as a finished product and received no further content updates after the VR support addition.

Unlike other games where you can only push your competition off the track, this game will allow you to creatively get rid of opponents. How about smash cars? You can do it! The enemy has overtaken you, do not worry you can always apply it against a large Arsenal of weapons. But you do not relax, the enemy can fight back.
