Evaluation

Mahjong Club is a solo-developed casual Japanese mahjong game that launched on August 29, 2018. After launch, the developer was actively communicating and patching the game, adding multiplayer (December 23, 2018) and episodic story content, with the last recorded communication being a bug-fix patch on January 20, 2019. No developer posts have appeared since that date — over seven years of silence as of June 2026. There are no unreleased DLC listings, no announced roadmaps, and no outstanding content commitments visible. While the store description mentions plans for more story episodes and future game mechanics, these statements date from 2018 and were written in the context of early post-launch development; the developer has not reaffirmed them in any post since January 2019. The game launched without a sustained pattern of major content releases (all 12 news posts are bug fixes or feature patches, with zero categorized as major content drops), and the developer has been entirely silent for over seven years. The game is best understood as a small solo project that received active polish in its first few months and has since been left in its completed state.

About this game

Hello Everyone!

Years ago, I learnt Japanese mahjong by chance. It is such a charming game that I would like to share with anyone. After a few trial and errors, I am glad to publish this Japanese mahjong game made by myself! Mahjong Club is a casual mahjong game based on authentic mahjong rules. Here are the major game modes:

Story Mode

Life in high school is always enjoyable but short. When the summer break arrives, what would be happening to these mahjong club members? Story includes 30 characters from 6 different schools. Traditional AVG systems is applied for whom are interested in scenarios. It is not fully finished for now, expect weekly updates for this part~

Quick Game

Only wants to have fun playing mahjong? No problem! All 30 characters can be selected in this mode, each with a powerful specialized ability to help you win the game. Both individual match and team match are included. Choose your favorite character, and have fun with the 'cheating' mahjong rules!

Tutorial Mode

Not really know how to play mahjong? Learning can be simple! A complete tutorial mode is implemented for beginners. It is not sufficient to teach you how to be a mahjong master(even I am not one :C), but it is definitely enough to teach you the essentials to start playing mahjong games.

Limited by personal capabilities (or funding), the game content may not be very rich. I will add more story episodes and more game mechanics in the future updates. Hopes that you will start to enjoy playing mahjong after playing this game.

Mahjong sure is fun, isn't it?
