Evaluation
Malebolgia launched out of Early Access on May 6, 2015, at which point the developer stated the game was feature complete — all areas, characters, enemies, and boss fights were in place. A final post-launch patch arrived on May 27, 2015, addressing community feedback on combat and movement. On December 15, 2015, the developer published what they explicitly described as the last major update, adding a Mac version, Steam Achievements fixes, and miscellaneous tweaks. That same post announced the developer had moved on to a new project called The Godbeast, with no further content planned for Malebolgia. There have been no developer communications since December 15, 2015. The game launched as a complete product and received its final update on that date.

About this game
Malebolgia is an atmospheric horror action/adventure, set in an old demonic palace, situated in the deepest Circle of Hell. The characters and story are inspired by Dante Alighieri’s “Inferno”, the ranks and nobility of the “Ars Goetia” and European history at the dawn of the 20th century.
As the old and battle-weary Leopold, you are forced to fight your way through this desolate and cold bastion of Hell, filled with macabre ghouls, fiendish devils and gargantuan monsters. On his desperate quest for freedom, Leopold encounters familiar faces and slowly comes to realize why he is trapped inside the palace. Is there truly escape from the Beast itself?
