Mark of the Deep launched on January 24, 2025 as a complete pirate Metroidvania/Souls-like adventure. The developer, Mad Mimic, has been consistently active since launch, shipping gameplay improvements, bug fixes, and a permanent price drop in May 2025. On February 18, 2026, Mad Mimic announced a paid DLC called The Cursed Trials — a boss rush mode. After a brief delay from its original March 16, 2026 target, the DLC launched on April 15, 2026 at $4.99, accompanied by a free base game update (Update 2.2.1) with UI improvements and bug fixes. This represents the only announced paid content expansion for the game, and it has now shipped. As of June 4, 2026, the most recent developer communication is a small maintenance update (2.3.7) addressing input system improvements and bug reports. Both DLC entries in the store listing — The Cursed Trials and the Supporter Pack — are fully released. No further content has been announced, no roadmap exists pointing to future expansions, and no unreleased DLC is listed. The game appears to be complete as of the April 15, 2026 DLC launch.
