Evaluation

Mayor May Knott launched on April 30, 2026 as a complete adventure game. Since launch, developer Ravenous Images has been consistently active, shipping a steady stream of updates addressing bugs, performance issues, and gameplay polish. As of September 1, 2026, they are testing a significant under-the-hood update (version 1.3.1) that migrates the game from Unity 2021.3 to Unity 6.5 — demonstrating continued hands-on engagement with the project. The only DLC listed is the official soundtrack, which released on May 8, 2026. There are no unreleased DLC entries, no roadmap posts, and no developer announcements about future expansions or additional content. All developer communications since launch have focused on fixes, improvements, and engine maintenance rather than signaling plans for new content. The game launched on April 30, 2026, placing it within the window where it's simply too soon to know whether content expansions will follow. The developer is clearly still active, but has not communicated anything about longer-term content plans either way.

About this game

Fix up a haunted ghost town!

Befriend terrifying monsters!

Solve lots of puzzles!

Listen to over 30 ridiculous original songs to learn crafting recipes!

Get your fortune told by a sandwich!

Mayor May Knott is a “creepy-cozy” 3D adventure game about a shy girl who accidentally becomes mayor of a haunted ghost town.

Initially, May runs in fear from the monsters lurking about! But as she explores the town, solves puzzles, plays minigames, and fixes up houses and buildings, she becomes more confident, overcomes her fears, and discovers that the monsters are actually all very friendly and would love to help May around town!

Eventually, with the help of her newfound friends, May turns the abandoned ghost town into a thriving community, filled with a variety of delightfully creepy creatures.

Over 30 Unique Characters!

Repair machines with Grandfather Clock, the clockwork retired rapper. Join Reel McKoi in fishing junk out of the polluted lake. Get your fortune read by the mysterious, sandwich-headed Madame Pastrami. And get insulted by Dick Tater, tyrannical owner of Glitzberg, the seedy apartment complex next door.

And that's just in the first 5 minutes!

Over 30 Ridiculous, Original, Professionally-Produced Songs!

Throughout the game, you'll find "records" to play on the Edjukebox in the Hall of Records. Those records teach you new recipes by playing original, professionally-produced songs spanning a huge range of genres -- from rap to rock, country to punk, girl-band to boy-band, and beyond!

Talk To Ghosts!

Early in the game, May finds and fixes up a device for talking to ghosts. An “Ectophone” if you will. With the Ectophone, May can talk to the many ghosts haunting the houses around town, and try to help them remember their names.

Listen to Records on the Edjukebox!

Once May knows a ghost’s name, she can find their “record” in the Hall of Records, a combination record store and city archives. The Hall of Records is also home to the “Edjukebox”, a machine used to play the original, professionally-produced song on each record!

By listening to a new record, May learns a new crafting or cooking recipe! This is called “Edjuke-ation”.

Cook and Craft!

Armed with the recipes from the Edjukebox, May can cook and craft exactly what each ghost needs to move on, leaving behind the key to their house!

Invite Monsters to Live in Your Town!

The game cycles between day and night, and monsters have their own schedules of things to do. Sometimes the secret to making a new friend is to catch them at the right time, meet them in the right place, or build up the courage to talk to them!

By getting house keys from ghosts, and giving them to the monsters you meet, you can make them permanent residents of your town! Each new resident helps out around the town in some way, and as you add them to your town you gain new options and opportunities to meet new ghosts and monsters, solve puzzles, play minigames, and explore new areas!

Solve Puzzles!

Mayor May Knott is brimming with puzzles and minigames, whether it’s a puzzle to deduce the name of a ghost, a quest to find ingredients for a tricky recipe, or a minigame to befriend a new monster.

There’s even a spooky abandoned mine / bowling alley, a haunted mansion full of puzzles, and a creepy endless hallway stalked by a terrifying creature!

Build a Thriving Community!

As you unlock new areas, repair houses and buildings, and move new residents to your town, you breathe new life into your abandoned ghost town, turning it into a happy thriving community.

Perhaps eventually you can convince all of the monsters to live in your town… even the tyrannical Dick Tater!
