Evaluation

Men of War: Assault Squad 2 – Cold War launched on September 12, 2019. In the weeks following launch, the developer published a series of bug fix and balance patches (through September 24, 2019) and posted a developer update on September 14, 2019 expressing intent to keep improving the game based on player feedback. At the time of launch, the release post mentioned several features planned for future updates (new netcode, medics and engineers in multiplayer, expanded airstrikes, and helicopters in multiplayer). However, development of this game appears to have quietly wound down very shortly after launch. The last patch recorded is from September 24, 2019, and there have been no further updates, patches, or developer communications specific to Cold War since then. The developer's attention visibly shifted: on November 23, 2021, they announced Men of War II as their next major project, and on May 15, 2024, Men of War II launched. Neither of these posts references any future content or updates for Cold War. The features that were teased at launch (new netcode, expanded multiplayer units) were never delivered based on available records, but the developer has not communicated about this game in any meaningful way since late September 2019 — over six and a half years ago as of today. There are no unreleased DLC listings, no roadmap, and no developer statement indicating future content. The game launched as a standalone entry in the series and appears to have shipped as a complete product with only a brief post-launch patch period. The studio has since moved on to its successor title.
