METAGAL

METAGAL launched on May 22, 2016 as a classic 2D platformer. After launch, the developer shipped meaningful post-launch content updates: an extra playable character (GAL.01) on September 3, 2016, followed by all four playable GAL sisters bundled together on November 6, 2016. A Winter Update with music and gameplay refinements arrived on December 19, 2016, and further feature patches followed through 2017 and 2018. Critically, the developer stated on October 30, 2016 that after the sisters update, they would "start moving to our next project" while continuing to provide bug fix support. This was a clear signal that active content development for METAGAL was winding down. The subsequent activity after 2016 consisted entirely of feature patches and bug fixes — no new major content was introduced. The developer's focus shifted to their next game, Metaloid: Origin, which was announced in February 2017 and released on March 30, 2019. The last recorded developer communication for METAGAL was a minor bug fix on June 21, 2019, addressing text issues in the Chinese version. There are no unreleased DLC items, no announced future content, and no developer roadmap pointing to anything ahead. The game shipped as a complete product and received its planned post-launch bonus content, after which the developer explicitly moved on. METAGAL is a finished game.
