MIMESIS launched into Early Access on October 27, 2025 and remains there. The developer has been consistently communicating and shipping updates throughout Early Access. In December 2025, the developer celebrated 1 million copies sold and stated explicitly: "Until the day MIMESIS officially launches, our tram will keep on running full speed ahead." This makes clear that a full 1.0 release is still a future goal and that ongoing development is by design. In February 2026, the team published a 2026 roadmap outlining the year's direction. A major update followed on June 15, 2026, rebuilding the core play experience from the ground up — adding a reworked game cycle, new map themes, 6 new monsters, 4 new gimmicks, equipment upgrades, a new scrap-throwing mechanic, and an evolved Mimic AI system called Mimesis 2.0. Bug fixes and hotfixes continued through July 2026. Most recently, on September 3, 2026 — just four days before this assessment — the developer posted "The LEAKED #10 - Where To?", a teaser post promising upcoming reveals with the message "Stay tuned." This is the latest in a recurring "LEAKED" teaser series, confirming the developer remains active and has more content in the pipeline.

MIMESIS

MIMESIS is a 4-player online co-op horror game where monsters imitate your friends. Gather anything of value and get back to the tram, never quite certain whether the person beside you is a real friend or a monster wearing their face.

Trust your friends. But doubt them.

Threats are scattered all through the building. Together with your friends you can push past the danger and haul your findings back safely. But don't forget: the person next to you might be a monster imitating a friend.

Beware the contaminated rain

The rain in this world is dangerous. Once night falls, the tram is the only shelter from it. You have to be back before midnight. Take on too much rain, and the next monster might be you.

Buy and upgrade your equipment

Collect enough and you can use the service station. Restore power to the dormant station, then buy and upgrade your equipment. Strong gear makes a real difference to survival. It isn't free, of course.
