Evaluation

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection launched on Steam on March 13, 2026. Since then, Capcom has delivered two meaningful waves of post-launch content beyond the cosmetic DLC that shipped at launch. The first wave came at launch itself: a large batch of cosmetic DLC including layered armor for multiple characters, monster-themed hairstyles, accessories, and character outfits — all released on March 13, 2026. A soundtrack DLC followed on April 22, 2026, and an additional accessory pack on May 14, 2026. The second, more substantial wave arrived on June 26, 2026, approximately 3.5 months after launch. Capcom released Ver. 1.1.0.0, a free update adding Royal Monsters — a harder post-game challenge mode featuring powerful variants of monsters that appear after completing a new hard version of the final battle. Alongside this free update, Capcom also released a paid story expansion, "Additional Side Story: Rudy," which adds a new narrative episode exploring the backstory of the protagonist's Palico companion, featuring the character Navirou from earlier entries in the series and the monster Nergigante. New accessories were also released as free DLC with this update. All 27 currently listed DLC items are released. The most recent developer communication was a bug fix on July 3, 2026. Capcom has not announced a roadmap, season pass, or specific future content beyond what has already shipped. However, the June 26 content drop — which combined a free gameplay update with paid story content — demonstrates that Capcom is actively supporting the game with substantive additions beyond cosmetics. No statement has been made indicating that development or content support has concluded.

About this game

The third entry in the Monster Hunter Stories RPG series is here!
Twin Rathalos, born in a twist of fate.

Monster Hunter Stories is an RPG series set in the Monster Hunter world, where you can become a Rider, raising and bonding with your favorite monsters.

The Story
Azuria and Vermeil: two countries, on a path to destruction.
When all hope seems lost, an egg is found. Inside is a Rathalos, a species thought to be extinct.

But this quavering light of hope is quickly extinguished, giving way to the darkness of despair.

Born from the egg is not a single Rathalos, but twins, bearing the Skyscale marking that hearkens back to the disastrous civil war of 200 years prior.

The natural world teeters on the verge of destruction, with countless monster species facing extinction. In the shadow of these dark times, the flames of war rekindle.

Two countries, and two Rathalos.

A Rider and their trusted Rathalos, buffeted by the winds of fate, set out on a journey for the truth.
