Evaluation

Monster: Titan's Playground entered Steam Early Access on July 24, 2025. Stellar Knights has been actively developing the game and communicating progress to players throughout. The first content update — Version 0.091 "Dermatology," released September 29, 2025 — added a skins system and two new weapons (the harpoon gun and chainsword). In that same post, the developer explicitly announced a much larger follow-up called "the Big Update," promising a new missions system overhauling progression, a full campaign (beginning with its first two chapters), at least one new map, and significant back-end performance work. The developer continued sharing progress publicly through early 2026. A January 30, 2026 dev diary detailed the Big Update's in-progress features — including new map screenshots, a moddable missions architecture, and quality-of-life improvements — while noting substantial work remained. A March 27, 2026 dev diary showed live gameplay of one of the new mission types coming in the update. The Big Update has not yet shipped as of today, September 24, 2026. The last developer communication was the March 27, 2026 dev diary, now approximately six months ago. While this silence is at the longer end of the studio's observed posting pattern, it does not yet constitute a break with their history — they spent several months between the September 2025 update and the January 2026 diary as well, focusing on development before surfacing publicly. The game remains in Early Access with explicitly announced, unshipped content. There is no indication the developer has gone dark or abandoned the project.

About this game

Devastate a fully-destructible city in VR as a giant monster. Battle mechs using your various breath, ranged, and melee weapons—including fire breath, gravity cannon, and lock-on missile pods.

Experience what it's like to look down upon a city—and then crush it. Tear chunks out of buildings and toss them at your mechanical foes. Catch missiles out of the air and hurl them back at the mech that fired them. Even throw mechs into other mechs!

Feel the rage of a monster that's been mutated and experimented on by mad scientists—and enjoy the arsenal of pointlessly destructive weapons they've given you.
