Moonscars launched on September 27, 2022 as a complete 2D action game. Following launch, Black Mermaid released a series of post-launch patches adding quality-of-life improvements, balance adjustments, new weapons, and language support — the most substantive being v1.6 on June 20, 2023, which added two new Special Weapons, new amulets, and three new languages. No DLC has ever been listed on the store, and no future content has been announced. The developer's last communication was the v1.6 patch on June 20, 2023, and there have been no posts since. The game has no roadmap, no season pass, and no unreleased content. The update history reads as a studio supporting and polishing a finished product rather than building toward additional content, and the silence since June 2023 is consistent with development having concluded. Moonscars appears to be a complete, self-contained game.
