MustScream launched on July 30, 2025 as a co-op horror game where players scream into a microphone to run through a haunted hospital. Since launch, the developer has maintained a consistent pattern of new content releases. A Steam friend invitation feature arrived on August 9, 2025. On March 27, 2026, a substantial update added the "Temple" map — featuring randomized layouts that change each playthrough — along with public matchmaking and lobby text chat. Both the map and matchmaking were announced in advance (March 16 and March 24, 2026 respectively), demonstrating deliberate, planned development. Most recently, on July 19, 2026, the developer shipped the "Laboratory" map — an underwater research facility with restricted visibility and movement — alongside a new Ping communication feature. This was also previewed via an announcement post on July 8, 2026. These two major updates are approximately 4 months apart, establishing a clear and sustained development cadence. Today's date is October 1, 2026 — roughly 2.5 months since the last major release — which remains well within the established 3-4 month update window. The developer has made no statement indicating the game is finished or that further updates are not planned.

About this game

Mysterious deaths kept happening, and then suddenly, a suburban hospital shut down.

As a journalist, you step into the abandoned hospital to uncover the truth.

Scattered throughout the hospital are 10 medical records. Collect them and find your way out.

But there’s one problem… You’re a total coward.

The only way to run is to scream—and push yourself forward.

Running away from enemies by actually screaming makes the experience even more immersive.
