NBA THE RUN launched on June 9, 2026 and has received a steady stream of updates since. A patch deployed on June 12, 2026 addressed early bugs and added polish. On June 25, 2026, the developer published a detailed post-launch roadmap alongside a gameplay patch, announcing a "Summer Heat" season for August, with follow-on seasons every 2–3 months, and a Campaign mode targeting Spring 2027. On July 21, 2026, a major game update added three new rookie NBA players (AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson, and Cameron Boozer), a new ruleset, and extensive gameplay tuning. Most recently, on August 10, 2026, another major update shipped Leaderboards, an Emoji Wheel, player roster/jersey updates, and further gameplay balance improvements — and explicitly confirmed that the first official season is launching in September 2026, bringing 5 NBA Legends, a Drive Camera option, Practice Mode, new courts, new rulesets, and more. The developer has also publicly committed to Ranked/Ladder mode later in 2026 and a full Campaign mode in Spring 2027. The game is clearly in active post-launch development with substantial named content confirmed ahead.
