Neko Odyssey launched on December 16, 2024 as a casual cat-photography adventure. Since launch, the developer SECRET CHARACTER has been actively supporting the game with both bug fixes and meaningful content additions.
The first major free update, Ver1.1, arrived on February 20, 2025, adding over 30 new cats to the island, a café system, an in-game chat feature, and a map — representing a substantial expansion of the base game. The second major free update, Ver1.2.6, shipped on July 30, 2026 — just two days before the assessment date — adding an entirely new location, a Tokyo Akihabara (Akiba) map, along with more than 30 additional cats. Alongside this, the game launched on Nintendo Switch on the same date, with the new Akiba content included.
