Smushi Come Home

Smushi Come Home launched on June 10, 2023 as a complete cozy adventure game. Following a successful launch, the developer announced a free post-game content update on March 14, 2024, which shipped on June 16, 2024. This update added new areas, NPCs, skins, collectibles, and mechanics, and was described by the developer as something they "always wanted to do if the initial release went well." Since that content update shipped, the developer has issued bug fix patches (the most recent being a Steam Deck hotfix on September 23, 2024) and promoted a limited-edition Inkcap Smushi plushie on October 2, 2024. Notably, in the October 2024 plushie post, the developer wrote that "the chances of us doing another plushie after this is very unlikely" and expressed general gratitude — language that signals a natural winding down rather than ongoing content development. No new content has been announced since the June 2024 update shipped, and no unreleased DLC exists on the store. The only DLC listed is the soundtrack, which released on June 15, 2023. There is no indication of additional content being planned. The June 2024 update appears to represent the full scope of post-launch content the developer had in mind, and communications since then have been limited to bug fixes and merchandise. The game reads as a complete, lovingly finished product.
