Neon Abyss

Neon Abyss launched on July 14, 2020 and received a series of paid DLC and free content updates over its first two years. Three paid DLC packs shipped: The Lovable Rogues Pack (July 15, 2020), Alter Ego (April 1, 2021), and Chrono Trap (January 27, 2022). Free content patches also added new storylines, bosses, weapons, and game modes through late 2021 and into early 2022. All four DLC entries in the store listing are marked as released, with the most recent being Chrono Trap on January 27, 2022. On August 18, 2023, the producer posted a "What's Next" update confirming that the team had shifted focus entirely to a sequel — Neon Abyss 2 — and was no longer developing new content for the original game. All subsequent developer communications (March 2025, April 2025, June 2025, July 2025) relate exclusively to Neon Abyss 2, which entered Early Access on July 17, 2025. The only post touching the original game after the sequel announcement was a security patch in October 2025 addressing a Unity engine vulnerability — routine maintenance, not new content. The developer has clearly communicated that their creative efforts have moved to the sequel. No further content for Neon Abyss has been announced or implied, and the last substantive content update was the Chrono Trap DLC on January 27, 2022. The game is a complete, finished product.
