Evaluation
Never Meet Your Heroes launched on June 22, 2023, followed by a couple of small patches in the first week addressing bugs and adding features. On November 13, 2023, the developer released a notable content update called "The Visit," introducing new story content and character scenes. In that same post, the developer stated that further updates were planned, leading up to a DLC to be released "next year" (2024). No DLC has appeared on the store, and the developer has not posted any updates since November 13, 2023. That is over two and a half years of silence with no communication about the promised DLC — no release announcement, no delay explanation, and no cancellation notice. The game remains purchasable and the base content is intact, but the status of the announced DLC is entirely unknown.
