Evaluation

Northend Tower Defense launched out of Early Access on September 4, 2024, marking its full 1.0 release after more than two years of development. The developer delivered substantial content throughout the Early Access period, including a major free Zombie Mode update in August 2023 and a series of feature patches that steadily expanded the game. Following the 1.0 launch, the developer's focus has visibly shifted. The most recent news post from March 9, 2026 — tagged as major content — is actually an announcement for a different game entirely: Deepstone Rift, the studio's new incremental tower defense title. Earlier posts from April and October 2025 also promoted Deepstone Rift's development and demo. None of these posts announce new content for Northend Tower Defense itself. The last meaningful update to NETD was its 1.0 launch in September 2024. The single DLC on record is the game's official soundtrack, released in March 2023 — a cosmetic/media product with no bearing on gameplay content status. There are no unreleased DLC entries, no announced future updates for NETD, and no roadmap commitments outstanding. The developer has moved on to building and promoting a new game, which is consistent with NETD being a completed product. The game shipped as a complete experience at version 1.0 and has received no further content since.
Evidence
Post labeled as major content is actually a full announcement for a new studio game, Deepstone Rift — not new content for Northend Tower Defense. This indicates the developer's attention has moved to a new project.
