Evaluation

N.P.P.D. RUSH launched on February 13, 2014 and received a major overhaul update on March 9, 2014, followed by a camera/performance patch on February 24, 2015, and a free music DLC on March 2, 2015. That free DLC in March 2015 appears to be the last piece of content delivered for this game. In November 2015, the developer announced a total remake of the game "from scratch," describing it as a stylistic and mechanical overhaul. However, this remake never materialized as an update to this game. Instead, by May–July 2019, the developer was posting about a new project called "Nauseous Pines" (described as the "spiritual reboot to NPPD Rush I've been promising for YEARS"), which was put up on itch.io as a separate early access title. This confirms the promised remake became a separate standalone project rather than an update to this game. There are no unreleased DLC listings, no roadmaps, and no developer communications about any future content for this specific title since March 2015. The developer has moved on to other projects. The game shipped as a compact indie title and its content cycle concluded with the free music DLC in March 2015.

About this game

So nauseous pines,
This noxious abyss,
I feed from the milk,
of ultra violet,
Yet I'm lost with you,
My floating twin,
You're the anchor to the drain,
but I am the key,
To nothing.

Developed by UK based micro-indie team Rail Slave Games, N.P.P.D. RUSH: THE MILK OF ULTRA VIOLET is an intense, vehicular, open world, arena shooter combined with lite RPG elements and a 80s British bedroom programmer feel. There is also an exclusive track written by British electro artist MANPANICS plus classic tracks written by Dylan Barry, Founder of Rail Slave Games.

“Rail Slave Games are to today’s indie dev scene as punk rock was to the music scene back in the late 1970’s” commented Darryl Still, CEO Kiss Ltd. “I can guarantee you that you will not play anything else like this - it is about as original as it gets”.
