Octopus Bar entered Steam Early Access on September 22, 2017 as a free-to-play VR experience built exclusively for the HTC Vive. The developer posted two rounds of updates in October 2017: on October 17, they acknowledged community feedback and confirmed they were working on Oculus Rift support; on October 18, they announced that additional levels and content were in development, and that the game would eventually leave Early Access as a paid full release. Those posts represent the entirety of the developer's public communication — the last update was on October 18, 2017, and nothing has been posted since. The game remains in Early Access on Steam, the promised additional content was never delivered, Oculus Rift support was never confirmed as shipped, and the planned full release never materialized. With no developer activity across nearly nine years, it is unclear whether development is still ongoing or has been quietly abandoned.
