Odinfall

Odinfall is a Viking-themed roguelite twin-stick shooter currently in Early Access, launched on March 11, 2025. The game has received a steady stream of major content updates since launch: Update 0.6.0 (May 15, 2025) added a new character and looping mode; Update 0.6.3 (December 4, 2025) added another new playable character and a reworked boss trophy system; Update 0.6.5 (January 28, 2026) introduced The Forge feature and giant enemies; Update 0.6.6 (February 26, 2026) added new weapons and enemy types; and Update 0.7.0 (August 13, 2026) — described by the team as one of their biggest updates yet — delivered a complete skill tree overhaul for all 8 characters, daily runs, new weapons, new skins, and a raised level cap. The most recent developer communication came on September 21, 2026, confirming that development is actively continuing. Importantly, it corrects a potential misreading of an earlier statement: while the August 14, 2026 post described 0.7.0 as the "last major patch before 1.0," the September 21 update clarifies this meant the last patch to change core mechanics — not the last significant update overall. The developer explicitly states that larger updates titled 0.8 and 0.9 are still planned, they will just not involve major gameplay system overhauls. A patch was also announced as coming later in September 2026. An earlier February 27, 2026 post disclosed some team members had reduced involvement or departed. The subsequent record of shipped major updates through August 2026 and continued active communication demonstrates the studio has moved past that period; the September 2026 update reads as a confident, forward-looking message with no mention of ongoing staffing concerns. The game remains in Early Access with a published roadmap, planned milestone updates (0.8, 0.9, and eventually 1.0), and active developer communication as recently as September 21, 2026.
