Old School Rally launched into Early Access on August 24, 2024 and officially graduated to a full 1.0 release on December 3, 2025, simultaneously launching on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch, with physical editions in Europe at launch and North America to follow. Since the Early Access launch, the game has received a steady and consistent stream of substantial content updates, roughly every one to three months. Major updates have included: Steam Workshop support and a new car (September 24, 2024); split-screen mode, four new stages, a new car, and new weather effects (November 13, 2024); four new cars, two new stages, and a Daily Challenge mode (January 26, 2025); a new country (Germany) with two stages, a new car, and a UI overhaul (April 20, 2025); a full model rework completing all 13 affected cars (August 12, 2025); and improved steering wheel support with full wheel rebinding (April 6, 2026). The developer has not announced that development is concluding or that no further content is planned. The sustained pattern of updates — seven major content drops across roughly 20 months — demonstrates continued active development. The last update shipped on April 6, 2026, approximately six months before today's date (October 8, 2026). While this approaches the outer edge of the typical 1–3 month cadence, the developer has consistently delivered updates at irregular intervals spanning up to several months, and no statement of completion or development wind-down has been made.
