On My Own

On My Own launched out of Early Access on February 26, 2016 as a finished survival game. After launch, the developer continued with maintenance patches and a controller support update through 2016. The game then went quiet until April 2020, when Beach Interactive announced the "Rekindled Update" — a major free overhaul bringing visual improvements, gameplay enhancements, new characters, and performance upgrades. That update shipped on December 23, 2020. At the time of the Rekindled Update's release, the developer noted they were "looking into expanding On My Own after the Rekindled Update" but explicitly qualified this as non-committal: "Nothing is official, but the team is looking into the logistics of another update." This vague statement did not constitute a firm commitment to additional content. Since December 2020, the only developer activity has been a minor UI patch on January 4, 2025 — adding a Discord link and Community menu option to the title screen. This is a maintenance-level change with no content implications. There has been no announcement of new biomes, gameplay features, or any named future content. The December 2020 exploratory statement about a possible future update was never followed up with anything concrete, and over four years of silence on that front indicates it did not materialize. The single DLC listed is the soundtrack, which was released on launch day in February 2016. No unreleased DLC exists on the store. The game shipped as a complete product and received one substantial post-launch content overhaul (Rekindled) as its second and final major update. With no outstanding commitments, no announced future content, and no sustained update cadence pointing to more releases, the game's content appears complete as of the Rekindled Update on December 23, 2020.
