Once Upon a Puppet launched as a complete 1.0 release on April 23, 2025. The developer framed it as a full, finished product at launch — a narrative-driven puzzle-platformer with a defined story and cast. Following launch, the studio shipped a small collectible hotfix on April 30, 2025, and a broader round of camera, collision, and performance fixes on July 23, 2025. Both post-launch posts are purely maintenance patches. The two available DLC items (a Supporter Pack and a Soundtrack) have both been released, and neither represents story content or a content expansion. There is no roadmap, no announced future content, no season pass, and no developer communication suggesting additional content is in development. The game launched as a complete narrative package and has received only quality-of-life maintenance since.

Wear the glove of Nieve, a Stagehand exiled to the Understage, and wield control over Drev’s strings, a Puppet magically bound to her. As they journey to return to the Frontstage above, they will retell forgotten stories, uncover shadowy secrets, and learn their fate is interwoven with the kingdom of theater itself.
