Evaluation

One-Eyed Likho launched on July 28, 2025 as a complete, self-contained story adventure. The store description presents it as a finished narrative experience — a 4–5 hour folk horror adventure based on a single Slavic fairy tale — with no mention of future content, expansions, or additional story chapters. The only DLC is a Supporter Pack released on launch day, which is a cosmetic/bonus item carrying no gameplay content implications. Since launch, the developer has been consistently active with polish and quality-of-life updates. Notable post-launch improvements include a Cyclopedia menu for revisiting notes and fairy tales (August 19, 2025), audio enhancements (September 9, 2025), and most recently on September 29, 2026, a feature update that adds optional hats for the Tailor character and upgrades the game engine to Unity 6 for performance and stability improvements. None of these updates signal new story content or planned expansions — they are refinements to the existing game. No roadmap, announced DLC, or future content commitments have been made by the developer at any point. The game shipped as a complete product and the developer's ongoing activity reflects continued care for the existing experience rather than development of new content.

About this game

Don’t Go Looking For Evil, You May Find The Likho…

One-Eyed Likho is a story-driven first-person adventure based on a dark folk tale recorded in the 19th century. Tired of his bitter life, a blacksmith sets out with his friend the tailor to find Likho and change his fate, but ends up in a mysterious world where the tales of all peoples meet.

Features

  • A dark fairy tale — journey to the thrice-nine kingdom and visit an ancient temple of forgotten beliefs

  • Fire mechanics — solve puzzles and light your way with a box of endless matches

  • The Book of the Worlds — collect tales of one-eyed giants from different peoples, from Polyphemus to Basat

  • Encounters with Likho — in several episodes you will have to hide from this monster and run

  • Unique style — a captivating world rendered in cinematic black and white (and other film styles you can choose in the settings)

What to expect

  • 4–5 hours to finish — completed chapters can be replayed from the menu

  • Gentle folk horror — an uneasy atmosphere and chases instead of constant jump scares

  • Story and exploration over action — tales and notes are an important part of the game; you can read them or skip them

  • Not a Black Book sequel — a new story from Morteshka with no card battles, closer in spirit to The Mooseman

An authentic folk tale

The game is inspired by the folk tale “One-Eyed Likho”. Likho is the embodiment of evil fate and misfortune, a one-eyed creature often appearing as a gaunt, one-eyed woman.
