One Step From Eden launched on March 26, 2020 and received several major updates over the following years: a large expansion patch (v1.5) in December 2020, co-op improvements in March 2021, sprite updates in November 2021, and balance patches through April 2022. The developer, Thomas Moon Kang, then shifted focus to a new game, Duelists of Eden.
The clearest signal came on March 27, 2023 (NEWS-3), when the developer posted the v1.8 patch notes and stated: "This may be the last update for One Step from Eden." That statement was reinforced on March 8, 2024 (NEWS-2), when the developer announced the launch of Duelists of Eden and explicitly confirmed: "One Step From Eden isn't planned for any more updates at the moment." By May 2026 (NEWS-1), the developer had moved on further still, announcing a demo for yet another new game, BASED.
The only DLC listed is the soundtrack, which has been released since launch. No unreleased DLC exists on the store. There are no announced future content plans for the game. The developer has directly and publicly stated that no further updates are planned. One Step From Eden is a complete, finished product.
