Evaluation

Open at Nine launched on April 12, 2023 as a brothel management simulation game by Black Cat Entertainment. Shortly after launch, the developer acknowledged in a May 2023 post that the game was built under a limited 6-month development timeline and funding constraints, while committing to improving future projects — notably not announcing any additional content for Open at Nine itself. The only post-launch additions to the game were a free 8-track soundtrack and a 125-page artbook, both released on May 17–18, 2024 to celebrate player support. These are the only two items in the DLC list, and both have been released. No further DLC, expansions, or updates have been announced for the game. Since the artbook and soundtrack release in May 2024, the developer's communications on this game's store page have consisted solely of bug-fix patches — addressing save file issues (March 2024, September 2024) and a Unity security update (December 2025). These are maintenance updates, not new content. All developer news posts from 2023 onward have focused on other titles in the Mango Party/Black Cat Entertainment catalog (Kaiju Princess 2, Summer Clover, Kon's Lesson, Fallen Shinobi, Radiant Victorias, LifeGuard Legend, Mirai's Midnight Training). There is no indication of planned additional content for Open at Nine. The game shipped as a complete, self-contained product and has received its final supplementary content in the form of the artbook and OST.
Evidence
Developer acknowledged the game was built in 6 months with limited funding, committed to improving future games, and announced future titles would be set in the same world — but made no promises of additional content for Open at Nine itself.
