Orbi Universo launched on January 10, 2020 and received a steady stream of major content updates over its first two years, adding new historical eras (Medieval, Discovery, Imperialism, Industrial, and Atomic ages) through regular patches. On January 10, 2022, the developer explicitly stated that the Atomic Age update would "probably be the last one of Orbi Universo" for new content, with the studio shifting focus to a new project called Legio Ad Signa. Despite this, the team followed through on one final piece of paid DLC — the Ad Astra expansion — which launched on October 17, 2022, extending gameplay into a space age. That DLC is the sole item in the DLC list and it is fully released. No further content for the base game has been announced or released since then. The developer's attention has fully moved on: on December 11, 2024, they announced a sequel (Orbi Universo II), and on July 31, 2025, that sequel officially launched. The original game's content development is complete, with October 17, 2022 representing the date the final content shipped.
