Othercide launched on July 27, 2020 and received a healthy run of post-launch updates: the Dream Mode update (September 10, 2020), the November Patch adding a new mission type (November 25, 2020), and the Sharing Is Caring update adding a seed system (June 23, 2021). The final content addition was the Beauty Will Remain Update and its accompanying Dressed To Kill – Cosmetics Pack DLC, both released on December 13, 2021. All three DLC entries on the store — the Soundtrack, Artbook, and Dressed To Kill cosmetics pack — have shipped. No further content was announced or released after December 2021. In November 2025, the developer posted on the Othercide news page to announce their next game, Ex Sanguis, describing it as "inspired by Othercide" in a "brand new universe." This message, combined with the years of silence on Othercide-specific content, makes clear that the studio has moved on to its next project. The game launched as a complete product and all post-launch content has been delivered.
