OVERVIEW (A Walk Through The Universe)

OVERVIEW launched on Steam on March 1, 2018 as a VR interactive documentary. It received one major content update in July 2018 (adding Oculus Rift compatibility and the Solar System Exploration activity), followed by a series of smaller feature and bug-fix patches through early 2020. In March 2019, the developer teased a future "Milky Way scale" activity, but no such release ever followed — that announcement was never fulfilled and has been sitting undelivered for over seven years. The last developer communication of any kind was a minor bug-fix patch on December 29, 2021, addressing a German translation issue and a Chapter 3 positioning bug. Since that date — now more than four years ago — there have been no announcements, patches, roadmap updates, or any other communication from Orbital Views. The promised Milky Way activity was never released. Given the extremely long silence (no posts since December 29, 2021), the absence of any unreleased DLC on the store, and the fact that the game's store description describes the content in present-tense as a finished product, the game is effectively complete. The unfulfilled 2019 teaser is treated as an abandoned plan rather than an active commitment, as there has been no follow-up in over seven years. The last meaningful content addition was the July 2018 major update; subsequent patches were maintenance only. The December 29, 2021 patch is the most recent evidence of any developer activity.
