Oxenfree

Oxenfree launched on January 14, 2016 as a complete, story-driven supernatural thriller. The only significant post-launch content addition was a free New Game+ update that shipped on June 1, 2016, which added new storylines, scenes, and endings — exactly what the store description references as the "Summer 2016 huge content update." That update was the conclusion of the game's post-launch content development. Since then, Night School Studio has continued to lightly maintain the game. In March 2021, they added mouse point-and-click support and ultrawide monitor compatibility. In July and September 2021, they shipped minor bug fix and stability patches — these were partly used as fun in-universe ARG teasers promoting the then-unannounced OXENFREE II: Lost Signals. OXENFREE II was officially announced in April 2021, and launched on July 12, 2023. None of this activity represents new story content for the original Oxenfree. Most recently, on February 4, 2026 — to mark the game's 10th anniversary — Night School released a small quality-of-life patch adding independent volume sliders and fixing a handful of lingering bugs. This is a maintenance gesture, not a signal of new content being developed for the game. The only DLC ever listed for Oxenfree is the soundtrack (released January 15, 2016), and no additional DLC has been announced or listed. Night School Studio's December 2024 anniversary post celebrates the studio's history and teases their future broadly, but makes no specific mention of new content for the original Oxenfree. The game is a complete, finished product — its story content was finalised with the June 2016 New Game+ update.
