Pantsu Hunter: Back to the 90s launched on January 17, 2019 as a complete adventure game with a defined set of content: four heroines, 18 collectible panties, multiple endings, 9 extra scenes, and an erotic gallery. Shortly after launch, the developer released a couple of bug fix patches in January 2019, followed by a content update on June 24, 2019 adding an erotic photo gallery — rounding out the game's feature set. No further game updates or content additions have been made since that date. On July 20, 2022, the developer used the game's news feed solely to announce a new, separate title ("Stuck at Home with My Sister: Prologue"), which is a signal the studio has moved on to other projects rather than continuing development of this game. The store description reads as a finished product with a complete, enumerated feature list and no mention of future updates or additional content. This game launched as a self-contained experience and has been content-complete since June 24, 2019.

However, academic qualifications aren’t his priority in life—it’s finding true love! Unfortunately, it’s not that simple. To his aid have come the most unexpected of all things: Panties! Kenji has learned how to identify a girl's personality by her underwear and he’ll meet four girls on his way: a playful sweetheart, a pretty tomboy, a shy introvert and an icy beauty. Can he eventually find his true love?
