Paper Planet launched on August 21, 2023. Its first major content update, Big Bad Bosses, arrived on May 14, 2024 with nine new bosses, eleven new items, twenty-two achievements, new cosmetics and four unlockable cores. A July 29, 2024 post said work on plans for the game was continuing behind the scenes, but nothing was shared. The developer then went quiet until October 12, 2026, when they posted The Return Update. In it, the developer explains that a health condition forced them to stop working on the game around the time of the May 2024 update, and that they are now feeling better. The return post ships bug fixes, balance changes, graphical improvements, new translations, five new items and a new planet. It also says the developer is not finished yet and plans one last big update before moving on to other projects. This final update is the next content the developer has announced.

Paper Planet is a doodly planet-defender roguelike, with Flash-inspired visuals. Born from a love of my childhood favorite Flash games, and modern roguelikes I've sunk countless hours into, taking the best of both planets. Uh..? of both worlds!

Face down unique enemies, with increasingly difficult behaviors and varied attack patterns as each run progresses. Try out different game modes and challenges. Paper Planet is designed STAY interesting no matter how long you play it! Play with friends in local co-op to really push the limits!
