Paperball launched on March 27, 2020 and received a steady run of post-launch content over its first two years. The major milestones were: the Version 2.0.0 update on September 18, 2020, which added three new game modes and DLC support, accompanied by three paid Special Stage Packs (each adding 15 stages, a new environment, music, and skins); and the Version 3.0.0 "Deluxe" update on March 24, 2022, which added 50 new stages and two new environments. That Deluxe update represents the last major content addition to the game. All three DLC packs are released and no unreleased DLC is listed on the store. A developer post from March 27, 2023 — the game's third anniversary — reflected warmly on the game's journey, mentioning the DLC, patches, and a Nintendo Switch port, and announced a price reduction. The tone of the post ("you help us to make more games") reads as a fond retrospective rather than a forward-looking development announcement, with no mention of future content. Since the Deluxe update in March 2022, the only developer activity has been maintenance patches, the most recent being a security fix on October 3, 2025. There are no announced upcoming updates, no unreleased DLC, and no roadmap. The game launched as a complete product, received two waves of meaningful content additions over about two years, and has been in a maintenance-only state since March 2022. The content appears complete as of the Deluxe update.
