Path of Wuxia spent over two years in Early Access (from May 2020) while the developer, Heluo Studio, progressively built out the game's content year by year. The third and final year of story content launched on April 1, 2022, followed by a substantial content and balance update in July 2022. On November 15, 2022, the developer officially graduated the game out of Early Access to its full release version, adding battle voice acting and various fixes, and explicitly thanked players for their three years of support. The launch announcement stated the team would "continue to maintain Path of Wuxia and prepare subsequent related plans" — but this was a general statement of post-launch support, not a commitment to specific new content.
The key context here is a developer post from April 5, 2022 (NEWS-5), written just after the third-year story content launched. In it, the developer acknowledged unfinished elements and outlined ambitious follow-up plans, including free DLC with new story content, new characters and regions, and even a successor project with a rebuilt framework. However, this post predates the July 2022 content update and the November 2022 full release — both of which delivered on the "content completion and optimization" portions of that roadmap (new story branches, lover endings, battle voices, and extensive balance work).
