Pathway launched on April 11, 2019 and received a strong post-launch update cadence. The first major free update, "Adventurers Wanted," shipped on October 9, 2019 with sweeping gameplay overhauls. The second major update, "Hardcore Mode," launched on February 20, 2020 with a new game mode and 12 new weapons. After that, updates shifted to smaller quality-of-life and feature patches: controller support arrived on May 18, 2021, and Steam Workshop support for community translations on January 13, 2022. The final recorded update was a Steam Deck compatibility patch on January 27, 2022. No developer communications of any kind have appeared since January 27, 2022. The two major content updates were spaced roughly five months apart (April 2019 to October 2019, then October 2019 to February 2020), and nothing of comparable scale has followed in over four years. The developer's only post-launch statement about future plans (April 12, 2019) mentioned ambitions for new regions and content expansions, but that was a very early post and all subsequent activity wound down organically rather than with a formal conclusion. There are no unreleased DLC items on the store, no announced future content, and no ongoing developer communication. The game appears to have reached the end of its content development cycle with the January 27, 2022 update.

In a time of global turmoil, Nazi influence spreads inexorably across Europe and the Middle East. Rumors are abound of secret excavations, mysterious artifacts, and even the odd whisperings and tales of gruesome occult rituals...

It's up to you to assemble a team of bold adventurers to journey through the desert. Explore bunkers and temples of Northern Africa to discover their hidden treasures and secrets before they fall into the hands of Nazi forces.

Pathway is a turn-based strategy game designed to provide players with approachable, fast-paced and fun squad skirmishes in an early 20th century pulp-adventure setting. Quickly run for cover, flank enemies and utilize your team’s special abilities to turn the tide of battle in your favor!

On the way to the mission objective, your team will trek through a randomized map, encountering a series of brief, ‘choose-your-own-adventure’ stories. The key to a successful mission will be to manage the risks that you take during these encounters, but remember that missions can be repeated at any time - with a new series of events to encounter each time you restart.
