Evaluation

Planet of the Eyes launched on Steam on August 24, 2015 as a complete narrative platformer. Following launch, the developer shipped two bug fix and feature patches (1.1 in September 2015 and 1.2 in November 2015), then a more substantial patch (1.3) in August 2017 that added localization, UI improvements, and remastered art to coincide with the game's console release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 12, 2017. There is no DLC, no season pass, and no announced future content for the game. After the 1.3 patch and console release, the developer's communications on the Planet of the Eyes page shifted entirely to promoting their next games — Riverbond (announced April 2018) and Echo Generation (announced July 2020). The game was a self-contained, handcrafted experience from the start, and all post-launch activity points to it being a finished product. Cococucumber has moved on to subsequent titles with no indication of returning to this game.
