Evaluation

Plot of the Druid entered Steam Early Access on November 1, 2022, with Chapter 1 as its initial release. From the outset, the developer confirmed the game would be delivered chapter by chapter, with three additional chapters planned beyond Chapter 1. A Kickstarter campaign successfully funded the full game in July 2021, clearing the path to complete development. Since launch, the developer has been actively maintaining the game — adding five new language translations in December 2023, porting it to Android and iOS in July 2024, adding full controller support in October 2024, and shipping performance patches as recently as January 4, 2026. These updates show the developer is still engaged with the product. However, the story content has not advanced. In December 2023, the developer said Chapter 2 was expected "in a few months," but as of June 2026, no new chapter has been released. That estimate is now more than two years old with no follow-up announcement or revised timeline. The game remains Early Access with only Chapter 1 playable, and the three promised additional chapters are still outstanding. The continued maintenance activity suggests the developer has not abandoned the project, but the lack of any chapter release or development update specific to the remaining story content leaves meaningful uncertainty about when — or whether — the full game will be completed.
Evidence
Developer stated Chapter 2 was expected to release 'in a few months' — a target that has not been met as of June 2026.

About this game

A disgraced druid apprentice goes on a quest to prevent the world from going crazy by restoring balance to the forces of love, wisdom, and wealth.

A mystical comedy adventure with sarcastic British wit, hand-drawn cartoon art, and an innovative shape-shifting ability for solving puzzles.

Plot of the Druid is a classic-modern point-and-click game that’s reminiscent of Simon the Sorcerer, Discworld, and Harry Potter.

• The player can decide whether to deal with a situation as a human or as a ferocious animal. Well, maybe not that ferocious, but one with a unique skill set.

• Harness the powers of nature in order to solve puzzles. After all, sometimes an earthquake is just what’s needed to get people’s attention.

• Beautiful hand-painted HD artwork in the style of old-school pixel art.

• Dozens of wacky characters, ALL fully voiced.

• Cool references to classic LucasArts and Sierra games.

• Two difficulty levels: Young Apprentice and Master of Disaster. Finish the game to earn a digital certificate with your name on it, signed by the Elder Druids themselves!

• Many MANY smooth 2D animations, including thrilling cutscenes.

• Over an hour of immersive, charming music.

• A hotspot reveal option to avoid pixel hunting.

• Lots of achievements to be gained by exploring the world.

• A journal to help keep you on track.

• Available in English with German, French, Spanish, Russian, Czech, Japanese, Polish and Hebrew translations.

• And the wind cried Mary!
