Evaluation
Precipice launched on May 1, 2019 and has received a steady stream of updates over its post-launch life. The developer shipped two significant named updates — the Kennedy Update (2.0, May 25, 2020), which was a ground-up codebase rebuild, and the Brezhnev Update (2.4.0, November 28, 2020), which added new election mechanics. Further patches followed through mid-2021, with the last recorded developer communication being a hotfix on July 5, 2021.
Since July 5, 2021, there have been no further posts from the developer — no announcements, no patches, no roadmap items, and no unreleased DLC listed on the store. The Kennedy Update post (May 25, 2020) mentioned plans to produce a roadmap for further support, but no such roadmap was ever published, and the subsequent Brezhnev Update and its follow-on patches appear to represent the conclusion of post-launch development work. There are no outstanding commitments from the developer, no unreleased DLC, and no live-service features.
The silence since July 5, 2021 — nearly five years as of today — is consistent with a game that has concluded its update cycle. The store description and feature set reflect a finished product. Precipice appears to have shipped as a complete game that received additional polish and content updates through mid-2021, after which development concluded.
