Evaluation

Primitier spent several years in Early Access before officially launching as version 2.0.0 on May 21, 2025. During Early Access, the developer shipped six major content updates — covering biomes, explosives, electricity systems, the Ancient Fortress, a Space Update with a Moon, and a Robot Update — demonstrating consistent and substantial development over that period. The October 7, 2023 developer post acknowledged the Early Access period was being extended by about a year due to missing elements, and specifically listed what would be in the full release: smarter mobs, a fortress boss, creative mode, and a logic circuit system (noted as potentially post-release). All of these were subsequently delivered: Creative Mode arrived in October 2024, Ancient Robots in April 2025, and the Ancient Core (fortress boss) shipped with the v2.0.0 full release on May 21, 2025. The developer's own roadmap commitments have been fulfilled. The one item flagged as potentially post-release (logic circuits) was delivered earlier than expected, in October 2024. The full release update itself was modest in scope — adding the boss and its dropped item — consistent with a developer completing the final promised milestone rather than beginning a new content phase. Since the 1.0 launch on May 21, 2025, the only post-launch activity has been a minor patch on May 30, 2025 addressing pricing adjustments and bug fixes. There has been no announcement of future DLC, expansions, or continued content development. The developer has not signaled any intention to add further content beyond what was promised and delivered for the full release.

About this game

Attention: This game is for VR only.

Primitier is a highly flexible VR sandbox game, where you can create tools and machinery by freely cutting and connecting objects in a vast world based on physics simulation.

True Craft System

By striking a tree with a stone, the tree is cut at the point of impact. Attach a stone to the end of a cut piece of wood of a suitable length, and you have a stone axe. In this way, you can craft various tools with a realistic sense of craftsmanship, not only with wood and stone but also with almost all objects found within the game.

Expansive World

You can seamlessly traverse a vast, procedurally generated world. As you explore, you may encounter enemies—so be prepared to create weapons to defend yourself.

Advanced Physics Simulation

Including crafted tools, all objects interact through physics simulation. For example, the ease of swinging and destructive power of a stone axe depends on the handle's length and the stone's weight. You can also create machines like carts and airplanes that operate physically.

Simulations of air resistance, lift, and buoyancy are also included.

Avatar Importing

You can change your avatar by loading VRM format files (not all VRM files are supported). The avatar can be hidden if desired.

Posting and Broadcasting Gameplay Videos

We allow the posting and broadcasting of gameplay videos within our guidelines. Please refer to the official website's guidelines for more details.
Note that you can output a third-person perspective video on your PC screen using the in-game camera.
