Prison Architect

Prison Architect launched in October 2015 and received years of paid DLC and free updates under Paradox Interactive and developer Double Eleven. The game built a robust post-launch content history with 12 DLC packs, the last of which — the Jungle Pack — shipped on February 7, 2023. On May 16, 2023, the developers published what they explicitly called "The Sunset Update," describing it as "our final update to Prison Architect." The post acknowledged the game's decade-long run and stated "we're closing this chapter." This is a direct, unambiguous developer statement that development of Prison Architect is complete. Following that announcement, on January 16, 2024, Paradox announced a sequel — Prison Architect 2 — noting "while the chapter is finished, the book isn't."
