Project Highrise

Project Highrise launched on September 8, 2016 and received a steady stream of post-launch content through mid-2018. The developer shipped five paid DLC expansions: Las Vegas (April 13, 2017), Miami Malls (July 13, 2017), Tokyo Towers (September 8, 2017), London Life (February 28, 2018), and Brilliant Berlin (July 19, 2018). All five are released with no unreleased DLC remaining in the store listing. Alongside the DLC, the game received several free feature updates in late 2016 and early 2017 adding amenities, lobbies, rooftop restaurants, and more. After Brilliant Berlin shipped in July 2018, the pace of updates for Project Highrise wound down. A console Architect's Edition bundling all content launched in November 2018. By September 2020, the developer's four-year anniversary post celebrated the game's history and mentioned its accomplishments, but framed these in retrospective terms — notably announcing that SomaSim had moved on to developing a new game, City of Gangsters. That new game was formally announced in December 2020, demoed in June 2021, and released in August 2021. The September 2021 news post — the most recent developer communication on this game's Steam page — was an announcement about City of Gangsters, posted to the Project Highrise audience as a courtesy update. There have been no further posts, patches, or content announcements for Project Highrise since then. All DLC has been released, the developer has clearly moved its focus to other projects, and there is no announced or hinted future content for Project Highrise. The game launched and was fully supported through July 2018 when the final DLC shipped, and is a complete package.
