Project Hunt

Project Hunt launched on March 25, 2024 and has been receiving a steady stream of updates from its solo developer ever since. Six paid DLC packs have shipped to date — Lone Star Hunting Ranch (September 25, 2025), HTR .338 Big Game Access Pack (November 5, 2025), Trophy Sanctuary (December 17, 2025), Trophy Museum (March 18, 2026), Manchurian Taiga (May 25, 2026), and the Frontier Hunter Outfit Pack (September 16, 2026) — alongside a continuous flow of major feature updates, optimizations, and bug fixes. The developer is clearly in the middle of an active, planned expansion of the game. On June 30, 2026, the developer published a detailed roadmap covering plans for the rest of 2026 and into 2027: multiple new maps (Farm Defense, Arctic coastline, Amazon River, and a Chernobyl-inspired zone), a wide array of new weapons and equipment, event creatures including dinosaurs, and new gameplay systems such as hunting dogs, fish traps, and a trophy room sharing feature. Development has continued at pace since that roadmap. The horseback hunting update shipped July 24, 2026. On September 8, 2026, the developer announced a new Arctic Frontier DLC — showing work-in-progress screenshots of the map currently under development. On September 16, 2026, a major patch shipped alongside the Frontier Hunter Outfit Pack DLC. And on September 17, 2026 — the day before today's assessment date — the developer published a detailed dev log announcing a "Project Hunt 2.0" push tied to a major promotional event on October 2, 2026, with specific plans for six new weapons, a Farm Defense map, and a Legendary Amur Leopard, all described as currently in development. The developer also noted ongoing quality-of-life improvements and stated plainly that more content is coming.
