The game had a turbulent history: originally developed by Holmgard Games, it entered Early Access in July 2024 before losing investor backing. Targetpoint Interactive took it over, rebuilt it as a persistent open-world extraction shooter, and relaunched it as Ozersk Protocol PVE: Founders Edition with a 1.0 release on June 23, 2026. Despite a seasonal live-service structure with Season Pass content, boss hunts, and community events, the game did not succeed commercially, leading Targetpoint to end development and pull it from sale roughly three months after its 1.0 launch.

As a private contractor and member of the elite L.3.3.T. team, you will deploy into a persistent PvE open world set in the fictional region of Ozersk — a hostile Zone filled with valuable artifacts, equipment, intelligence, and other players hunting for the same prize.

Every expedition is a gamble. Bring your gear, push deeper, secure what you can, and extract alive to the safe zone. Die in the Zone, and everything you carried is gone. Return to the same server, fight your way back, and you may still recover what you lost — unless someone else gets there first.
