Psychopomp

Psychopomp launched as a free-to-play game on January 30, 2024, and received several patches and feature updates in its first weeks. The developer (Karbonic) then announced and released Psychopomp Gold on October 26, 2024 — a separate, expanded standalone release described as "the full game," featuring remastered levels, new levels, new enemies, new endings, and more content. The store page for the original Psychopomp now prominently directs players to Psychopomp Gold as the new and improved version. Following the Gold release, Karbonic announced on October 27, 2025 that Psychopomp 2 is in active development as an entirely separate sequel — confirming that the developer's creative energy has moved on to a new project. This sequel announcement refers specifically to Psychopomp 2 (a new game on Steam), not to any new content planned for the original Psychopomp. The original Psychopomp is now effectively a complete, archived release. Its successor (Psychopomp Gold) has already shipped, and the developer's focus has shifted to a sequel. There is no announced or unreleased content for the original game.
