Pub Sim launched into full release (version 1.0) on March 31, 2025, having previously been in Early Access. The 1.0 release post laid out an ambitious community-voted content roadmap: cooking/snacks and soft drinks by Summer 2025, bathrooms and barfights by Autumn 2025, and fruit machines and casino content by Winter 2025. This indicated the developer planned meaningful post-launch content updates. However, just two weeks after launch, on April 15, 2025, the developer posted a candid update revealing that their investors had pulled funding. The financial structure meant the two developers — the lead developer and a collaborator named Valentin — were left with very little personal income from the game. Valentin subsequently accepted an outside job offer. The developer was careful to say they had not abandoned Pub Sim and still believed in its potential, but acknowledged the roadmap would be affected to an unknown extent. That April 15, 2025 post is the last official communication from the developer. All three roadmap content windows (Summer, Autumn, and Winter 2025) have now passed without any releases or announcements. The developer's silence has stretched beyond 14 months as of June 19, 2026, with no updates, patches, or community posts to indicate the game's development is still active. The situation — lost funding, a key team member taking outside employment, and a prolonged communications silence — makes it genuinely unclear whether the promised content will ever be delivered.
