Evaluation
RaceLeague is an Early Access racing game developed solo by Oversteer Studios. Since launching in July 2022, it has received three numbered major updates: V0.3 (December 21, 2023), V0.4 (June 27, 2024), and V0.5 (December 19, 2024), each adding significant new vehicles, systems, and gameplay features at a roughly 6-month cadence.
On January 3, 2025, the developer posted a feedback request and confirmed that the next major update would include track builder improvements, an options overhaul, bug fixes, and a new vehicle. This content remains unshipped.
On June 26, 2025 — the most recent developer communication — the developer posted a status update acknowledging that the planned update has been delayed beyond its original summer 2025 target, will be smaller in scope than originally intended, and has no confirmed release date. The developer cited hardware issues and technical problems with the project. The game remains in Early Access and has not reached 1.0.
The combination of an announced but undelivered update, a developer-confirmed delay with no new timeline, and no communication since June 26, 2025 means there is some uncertainty about when the next update will arrive — though the developer has not indicated the project is abandoned. Anyone considering purchasing should be aware that the game is unfinished and the next update's delivery timeline is currently open-ended.
